    • In case you haven't understood yet, the point is not that growth will go on until the planet explodes.

It is that there cannot be growth for long, therefore, a monetary system that requires growth to function is doomed to failure.

      • But don't worry. We'll grow organic iPods from solar panels and turn the entire Sahara into a composting facility.

Talk about a practical, realistic scenario.
You do realize that organisms have existed for billions of years which decompose inorganic materials right?

          • And then we'll ship all garbage there using fusion powered supertankers.

In the years since the collapse of the USSR destroyed Communism, a new form of political thinking has emerged which is called ecosocialism. You can look it up, there's a lot of literature going around.

Perhaps the time to abandon the dysfunctional monetary system would be when it starts to fail? What is your proposed replacement monetary system? Federation credits?

                    This is irrelevant.

I have shown already that a recycling rate of 90% only gives 75 extra years of growth.

Everyone has 500 tons of organic thrash in their backyard, which have been designed to regenerate cars, windows, golf clubs and computers.
