Because the installer still decompresses the files; the difference is that the textures aren't already compressed using a format like JPEG which would actually make them small. The compression algorithm used by the installer doesn't work well on images.
On top of that, at least on windows the installer is pluggable and costs them nothing to use. So even if the devs weren't using it, and they are, they wouldn't save money.

Yeah, I suppose. It's not ground breaking. It's a bit easy (second hardest difficulty). The game looks pretty.
There's no SLI support. I'm stuck running this on one card.
Crap. I didn't pay attention to what settings I was even playing on.
The fps is capped at 60. So, there's that.
The story is surprisingly fun so far.

I reached a rage-quit point.
Most of the levels leave it up to you how to beat them. This particular level pretty much forces you to use stealth... which is fine. However, you are also forced to take the "stealth route" in the map. Sadly, I've not yet been able to find where the "stealth route" continues after you reach the first set of enemy locations.
Also, once you are spotted, you can't hide again (until you kill the alarm generating officers... because once you kill a nazi lieutenant, the rest of the soldiers are unable to respond to intruders). The enemies know where you are at all times and go straight for you.To us, it is the BEAST.Comment
