My only concern wrt to giant avatars is that a lot of us (or at least I) browse Poly while at work. Traditionally, sexy-type pictures were confined to the Babe Thread, which I never visit while at work. Now, we've got sexy-type pictures randomly strewn across threads and being used as decently-sized avatars. It makes it difficult to browse innocently while I'm supposed to be doing my job. If this isn't a problem for a lot of people, however, then I can simply turn off images and avatars while at work.

That's a stupendously good point, yes, for which I have only two responses. Firstly, I'm at work 8 hours a day, but my job does not require 8 hours worth of effort. I can fulfill all my responsibilities and still have a considerable amount of free time left over. Secondly, related to Poly, if I don't visit the site while at work, I'll be significantly less effective at getting rid of spam and doing promotion for CivBE.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.
