Back in the day I made the most successful topical thread in the OT of all time, called "What is the best MBT". Went to around a thousand posts, all in depth and topical. None of this word association stuff, each post was a serious pov about someone's favorite MBT. Ended up being between Horse and Derek. Horse liked the T34 and Derek the Panther. I agreed with Derek. Everything Russian is trash.

Besides, Derek was cool.

Back in the day, we closed threads that went over 500 posts.

By default, the forum sorts threads by last post. It's very easy to sort it by other criteria.

No, this was the thread that threatened to bring down the server and why they instituted the policy of closing at 500. In fact at 800ish I was given the choice of having the thread closed or having Poly crash. Unfortunately I chose to close the thread, but the next made the thousand, or close to it. A f t e r my MBT thread they went to 500, and it was the reason they did, young pup. Perhaps you were not yet weened. Ming actually gave me the choice, back when we were friends, before he became a total **********.

Always choose Poly, unless they're asking you to accept something you cannot in good conscience accept.

But we'll get into why I left later.

You should have seen the party we had today self. At least 25 kids in the pool, some of which had never seen a pool before. Lots of food, all they could eat. Floats, beachballs, balloons, stuff to fill a child's mind. Yeah, I'm a patriarch, but the kids love to have fun and that's what its all about. Kids, memories, and something to take home, a full belly, an alive imagination, and dreams to be dreamt.
