Still just fall 2014. There's supposed to be another info dump at E3, so we may get a release date then. However, all the previews released yesterday still described the game as being pre-alpha, which seems odd for a release this fall. And yet the game just became visible on Steam, and there are people from the community (DanQ and Solver, to name two) who appear to be beta-testing it.

Of course it does. When it's released it starts the open beta phase. Anything before that is still alpha.
