I'm not a communist either. The reason I'm not a feminist anymore is because of feminists.

People can be manipulated. It's far easier to manipulate a person as a youth than as an adult.

That is the value of feminism.

Lay out the issues as you see them.

I believe I've already said no. But to clarify it, NO. I think it was just silly to do that.

And the only reason I kept mentioning the differences between criminal and civil was for their justification, not mine. I see no difference in this example.
    I hope that's clear enough.
    OK.

But for guys at 15, I believe they are capable of consent

So yeah, I think he bears some responsibility even if it's real little.

    You're hard to pin down.

If he's capable of consent, then why not child support?

The acknowledgement that criminal and civil law differ is not really very useful. Yup, gravity exists... The question is should the law treat the same person given the same facts as both capable of consent and incapable? Is that something we want our legal systems to do? Again, not is, but should. The legal system in CA did this. The point is should it have?

The actual age is up for discussion. 12 is too young for either. But today's kids are more advanced then previous generations (I can't believe I just gave credit to more recent generations)
15 is borderline for me. I could be convinced that it's old enough.
Ages of consent vary from country to country- and let's face it, I'm sure we all knew someone in school who was having sex before they were legally able to. Also, in the 19th Century (before things like the Labouchere Amendment in England) men were regularly having sex either with what would now be considered underage girls or teenagers made up to look underage. Oh, and telegraph messenger boys too.

Some people will mature physically and psychologically before others- and no, Sister Bendy, this isn't me giving carte blanche to paedophilia.
