People shouldn't be able to refuse vaccines (in the, you need to show you have vaccines to go to school or get a job sort of way). **** your "it's my personal choice" when it comes to adversely affecting everyone else's health.

As a libertarian, I believe people should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as they don't infringe on the rights of others.

As someone who hasn't smoked weed in over a day, I'm inclined to take all the anti-vaccine imbeciles, tar them, feather them, disembowel them, and hang them with their own entrails.John Brown did nothing wrong.

I like you. Specifically, your jib. Guynemer, this is a bit of a special case, as is everything that involves children. There's a unique agency problem. Children can't make their own decisions, and while parents are usually pretty good about making decisions that are good for their children, there are many exceptions, and in many cases it makes sense for the government to come in and say "no, you can't do that", such as, "no, you can't keep your kid from going to school" and "no, you can't prevent your kid from being vaccinated against horribly disfiguring and dangerous yet highly preventable illnesses".Originally posted by Guynemer View PostThat's because I find the very idea of not covering childhood vaccines, for instance, so far beyond stupid that it defies belief. If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

You're happy to let people make decisions for themselves while knowing they're too stupid to make decisions for their children?Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostGuynemer, this is a bit of a special case, as is everything that involves children. It's perfectly consistent. The question is why is it reasonable to think stupid people deserve to get themselves killed?Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostYes? When people bear the consequences of their own decisions, that's fine. When someone else is, that's not fine. What's inconsistent about that?
