I've actually already explained it at least 3 times explicitly in this thread (and several more times indirectly).

The reason is simply because a person has the right to choose what they will do with their own life, and doesn't have the right to take away that right from anyone else. Murder is one of the, if not the most extreme forum of violating the right of another person to choose what they will do with their own life.

No a person does not have that right, not in any society. As BK pointed out in the beginning, society is put in place to control individuals. You get whatever rights you can negotiate. Murder does not happen to always be one but is in many cases including abortion.

Yep, abortion is one such example. Another would be soldiers killing people. Most people don't condemn military veterans as evil. Another example is killing animals and cooking and eating their flesh.

All of those types of killing is the result of mental preparation. Why aren't fetuses sentience challenged people?

If you don't want someone to be alive you can convince yourself and others that it's ok to murder them even though you "believe that murder is wrong? Are you familiar with Sartre's existentialism? According to him such people never did believe that murder is wrong.

That's why we have laws instead of just letting everyone decide for themselves when it's okay to kill someone. It's a lot harder to convince the rest of the country that someone should die.

Which is why I say that murder is illegal because individuals are constrained by society, not because everyone believes murder is wrong. Just because people say they believe murder is wrong doesn't mean they actually do believe murder is wrong.

You only know when you come to the point that you feel like killing someone and you think you can get away with it. But you don't do it. Many people talk about how this or that is wrong but one day they feel like doing it so they do it.
