I'm curious, how much does parent height matter at this age (and for that matter, how much does height-at-2yo affect height-at-20yo)? I've got two kids, both hovering around or above 90% (for example, my 2.5 yo is 38" tall, my 10 month old is 30-31"). My wife is 5'4" and I'm 5'8". I don't suspect it's likely they'll continue to hang around the 90th percentile, but who knows?<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

For a boy you take the father's percentile height, multiply by 2, add the mother's percentile height then divide by 3 and that's a rough approximation of his expected male adult percentile height. For a girl you take the mother's percentile height, multiply by 2, add the father's percentile heightand divide by 3 to estimate her female adult percentile height."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

I understand that, I meant, looking at a 2 year old, does their current height percentile at 2yo have much bearing on their height percentile as an adult (assuming they're not <5% or something crazy)?<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh kinda sorta maybe?
Growth is so variable during puberty that is rather difficult to make a real prediction at age 2."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Another method used by pediatric endocrinologists is that the average of the parents' height. For a boy, it'll be roughly 1-3 inches above that; a girl, 1-3 below."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Lately he's taken to riffing on songs and nursery rhymes we tell him. So, a week or so ago Shelok asked him, "Laz, are you poopy?" He answered, "Poopy? No not I, if do sure cry."
More recently, he's been singing "Here Comes the Sun," with the sun replaced by various random objects, e.g. "Here comes the milk," "here comes the blocks," "here comes the book." Always followed by a thoroughly atonal "doo-doo-doo-doo . . ."
The metric I heard was "twice the kid's height at age two is his adult height," which would make him about 5'10". I can live with that.
