        I'll say. He was way better than Matt Damon in 'The Talented...' and with a much smaller part. Also his portrayal of the priest in 'Doubt' is superb, as was his Truman Capote. What an awful waste.

                I disagree. On her own, she was nicknamed 'Joan of Arts' for tirelessly promoting government sponsorship of the arts in America. Of course, even the arts are a capitalist commodity to USers.

                            He got some press here late in the year, and his health was prominently mentioned.

                            You are correct that he is not very well known in the US.
