It's not being an overpriveleged doucehbag to understand that if they charged money for the ER, it would solve the scarcity issue (i.e. people having to wait for 5 hours or more which is how long I was likely to be waiting) while also providing the money necessary to expand services to meet demand.
The "scarcity issue" of having to wait for hours because they're busy with people who have more serious problems?

    • The scarcity issue of me having to wait at least 5 ****ing hours to get two stitches.

Urgent care center is obviously where I'm going next time I do something stupid, don't know why I didn't think of it. Basically, **** ERs and places that don't charge money up front.

You are soooo close to figuring out what ERs are for.

          • Honestly I'm glad I went to the ER because it reinforced my understanding of why it's important that healthcare cost money to people, and not be paid for by the government.

So that you can be charged money to be told you should have gone to the ER again?

              • Since the doctors and nurses at my school's clinic can do stitches I'm operating on the assumption that an urgent care center can too.

                  • The nurse told me that rubbing alcohol was the wrong solution so I doubt vodka would be better.

                              That's great.
