(and this is also a response to dd's post 66) the point is not so much to win hearts and minds with the action itself, but rather to get people thinking and talking about the issue. because, with women's rights, like say, universal suffrage or slavery, once people start asking and discussing the question "should women have control over their own bodies?" it's fairly clear which side is going to win. there are arguments against women having control of their bodies, but those arguments, like those in favour of slavery or against universal suffrage, are actually pretty weak.
