  • Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that those who celebrate are able to do so with their loved ones.

And are ****ing thankful about it!

Not early here, oh self-absorbed one.

Thanks, DaShi. Same to you and yours.

It's the day all Americans celebrate not being Australian.

Bring on the commemoration of the Pilgrims being completely unable to look after themselves in the midst of plenty :

The english colonists must have been playing with cheat mode on. Over here in Buenos Aires the natives raided constantly, and the city had to be abandoned.

There will be food. Pretty traditional.

                  Wishing everyone a great holiday.

In Jamestown the English chose a dirty marshland which ended up weakening or killing colonists. The Pilgrims further north were clueless about survival skills and had to be taught by the natives. There was most likely no wild turkey on the menu (the grossly enlarged virtually flightless creature now consumed is a product of selective breeding) and no pumpkin pie- 'cos they didn't have any butter or wheat to make a traditional pie. I doubt any of them would have been able to make a pastry out of cornmeal.

What (or who) they ate in Jamestown :

Newly discovered bones prove the first permanent English settlers in North America turned to cannibalism over the winter of 1609-10, US researchers say.
