The supposed crucial threshold for CO2 concentration, I think it's about 300 ppm, was reached in 1911, 102 years ago. The last time before then that CO2 concentrations were that high, most of Florida was underwater. CO2's atmospheric residence time is long enough that even if all of the world's power plants and cars and whatever magically disappeared into the ether that still wouldn't solve the problem because were are long long past the point of no return.
But that's fine, because having a northwest passage ****ing owns and jesus christ it's winter in Rochester now, we had our first snow earlier this week and I would kill for the weather to be 10-15 degrees warmer (though even with global warming that probably won't happen).
