For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

The simple fact is that the government needs a combination of less spending and more revenue to get us out of the hole we are in (or at least to make it reasonable). The second simple fact is that the income disparity between the rich and the middle class is as high as it has been since right before the depression. The third simple fact is that the economy does do better when the income disparity is less.
Finally, for those that want to center on the fact that Gross "feels guilty" instead of the simple economic truth he espouses then you need to ask yourself the same question Sava asked you..."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

The gap you seem so concerned about has widened as much as it has under the watch of an Administration that claimed to be most concerned with said gap. It would seem that focusing on policies that foster growth rather than simply falling for a simplistic call to raise taxes (given the fact none of the calls are paired with any reform of the tax code) would be a more productive use of timeI make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Since much of my income is earned, my tax rate is probably as high as it gets. Can I afford to pay more? Sure. Do I trust the govt. to spend wisely? Not so much.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man
