Our prisons are grotesquely overcrowded hellholes for a reason: they're simply a hole for people we don't want to bother thinking about. See "oubliette." We're talking about a place where anal rape is believed to be commonplace, and we joke about it. Don't drop the soap, ha ha!
So, yeah, Guy's right. Ain't a damn thing gonna happen here, move along. It might actually get worse, as we tighten our belts further.
