In December 2012, Saudi religious police detained more than 41 individuals after storming a house in the Saudi Arabian province of al-Jouf. They were accused of “plotting to celebrate Christmas,” according to a December 26 statement released by the police branch.[44]

Yeeeaaah, to hell with these people.

Plato: Saudis are butthurt because US isn't going to war in Syria... you don't want the US to go to war in Syria..

So which is it? Should we let the Saudi's dictate American foreign policy?

ANd who gives a shit what those motherfuckers think anyways? You?

The Iranians are more than just slightly worse.

Curiously enough, the populated parts of Saudi Arabia with the majority of the people are much less religiously conservative, but the super religious regions are the ones with the oil. Saudi Arabia, like any country named after a person, is pretty artificial and has a lot of cultural diversity.

Helping the Saudis in at least small ways is good because if you don't support your allies and threaten your enemies, you're going to wind up with very few friends and lots of enemies.

This is why the way the Obama administration handled Egypt was downright malpractice.

What did I post in this thread that would make you ask me that?

          Are you assuming something here?

I just think that if you need to consult the Kingdom of Saud, well... that's pathetic.

I'm almost starting to pity conservatives.

They want the US to bomb both Syria and Iran. If the Saudis want a war that bad why don't they get off of their butts and do it themselves? Oh, yeah, that's right... Because they're ****ing incompetent in every way, shape, and form, and the ***** can't even keep their planes in the air without Americans to repair them. They just lack any and all technical ability so they can shut up because they're owned and really have no other alternative.

This is what happens when 50% of the college graduates get a "degree" in Islamic Religious Studies. They end up with an economically worthless population completely unable to do anything useful for themselves. Maybe they should stop paying for people to become Mullahs and maybe actually educate people in science or engineering or some other subject which actually would be of some modest economic worth?

Saudi Arabia is basically the American conservatives' utopia. Oppress women. Theocracy. Oil. Nobody works. Immigrant slave labor does everything.

No wonder the Bushes are butt buddies with the Saudi Royal family... and the bin Ladens.

Guns are also fairly abundant in Saudi Arabia and they have a bloated military budget. Truly a conservative's wet dream.

And they would be allowed to kill gay people and kill women who were victims of rape. Perfect!

Saudi Arabia also bans Pokemon because it promotes gambling and Zionism.

But hey, let's listen to their opinions on American foreign policy.

Saudi Arabia's mufti, the highest religious authority in the conservative Muslim state, has banned the popular children's play of Pokemon, saying it promotes Zionism and involves gambling.

The religious edict issued over the weekend said the Pokemon video game and cards have symbols that include "the star of David, which everyone knows is connected to international Zionism and is Israel's national emblem".

The kingdom's senior cleric, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, protested that most of the cards figure symbols such as "crosses, sacred for Christians and triangles, significant for Freemasons".

And he charged that the worldwide phenomenon of Pokemon launced in Japan in 1996 was a bad influence.

"It resembles a game of gambling because of the competition which at times involves sums of money being exchanged between collectors of the cards" Sheikh Abdul Aziz said.

America is the leader of the free world, but it sure doesn't stop our country from being in bed with certain countries.

With friends like the Saudis, who needs enemies? They've needed to be taken down more than a few notches for over a decade now.

They took away kids' pokemon cards? That is unforgivable.
