LOL, as if they dont get that perspective the other 364 days a year...

I don't know why you want to turn this from "their rights were abused" to "this was the most righteous affirmation of american supremacy ever"

Aren't you old enough to figure out other perspectives that arent your own yet?
Perhaps you could explain to me why someone who didn't already hate America would be offended by an American student wearing an American flag in an American school.

Holidays are a funny thing. Nobody has a problem with St. Patrick's Day as far as I know, and I suspect a lot of people who argue for Cinco de Mayo have problems with Columbus day, aka Italian Pride Day. Meanwhile, i don't see anybody over here celebrating Bastille Day.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Mexicans celebrating Cinco de Mayo is no more objectionable than the (fractionally) Irish going nuts on St. Patrick's Day, the Italians living it up on Columbus Day, or neo-pagans doing goofy **** on Halloween. That is to say, some people will object, be they fundy Christians who hate witchcraft or Native Americans protesting the annihilation of their people. That's America. Your feelings will get hurt. Schools trying to prevent that are doing their students a disservice. If you go to school and learn nothing except "We live in a pluralistic culture, and you better get used to it," you learned plenty that day. The three R's can wait.

Sometimes, it's hard to tell when you are trolling.

I want to believe you are. Otherwise, you have a serious learning disability.

Because of the situation of what was being celebrated that day at that school, and the choice to diminish that celebration by asserting that this is america *****es is disruptive. So disruptive it warrants suspension, no. Stop being obtuse. Please.

Students should learn how to manage and channel their emotions productively, to use this as an occasion to discuss and debate issues. Trying to prevent that sort of constructive behavior will only lead to bad citizenship later on in life.

I just have to assume that when hes asking questions, they're from the perspective of a doofus, and that is trolling to him.
