  • Evangelical nutjob blows up family dog. Says it "had the devil in it".

Is it any wonder that these people support irrational things, hate science, and are utterly misinformed on just about every thing?

Man Preparing for 'Rapture' Blows Up Family Dog Because It Had 'The Devil in It'

A Washington father preparing for the rapture strapped the family dog's neck with explosives and blew it up on Sunday because it had "the devil in it."

According to a report from KOIN 6 News, 45-year-old Christopher Dillingham allegedly attached an explosive device to his family's Labrador Retriever and detonated it at about 4 a.m. outside his family's home in Stevenson, Wash.

The explosion, which decapitated the dog, triggered a flood of 911 calls directing police to Dillingham's house where they found the yard littered with the remains of the dog its former owner, Ty Freemantle, later identified affectionately as Cabella. Dillingham was arrested at the scene.

As an aside, I hate sites that automatically play streaming video or any kind of audio without the user's express permission. Are they trying to get people fired?

We shouldn't have to do that.

May I just point out that while it may be likely this man is an evangelical Christian, nothing in the article states that?

Crazy and religion go well together (for obvious reasons).

Evangelicals are the only ones who babble nonsense about "the rapture". Not even Catholics do that. Oh, and it was an idea invented whole cloth in the 19th century but which fundamentalist protestants in the US latched on to it and think it has always existed. Which just goes to show what fools they are.
