    I just ran across this picture, and it really struck me how things are so completely different nowadays. Seventy years ago, such a photo couldn't even be conceived of.

        Also, I see a digital watch and the uniforms are probably made from synthetic fibres that did not exist 70 years ago.

            We were killing each other in a beach invasion on Guam 70 years ago. We are practicing a beach invasion together on Guam now.

                      I imagine a quick search could find endless examples of former enemies working together 70 years on.

                      It doesn't strike me as terribly unusual.

                          Sure, but still not unusual.
