And, more importantly, PRINCE ****ING CHARLES is next in line. You also don't have to look back far to see some pretty goddamn dumb monarchs.

Plus, the whole breeding justification is flying straight out the window with the fact that none of them are marrying nobles anymore so their gimmick is gone.

That would be Prince Charles the former Airforce and Navy veteran who started a major charity that has helped thousands of young people do things like start their own businesses? But hey, he said something about a tampon once in a private sex chat that was hacked, so therefore he must be a moron.

He's a moron for other reasons, that's just a particularly embarrassing moment.

Oh yeah something I forgot to mention, he was a military officer because he was born with a silver spoon. I mean, seriously, who's NOT going to let him into the academy? Who's going to deny him a commission? Who's going to write him a bad OER once he's commissioned? Seriously, he's the Prince of Wales. The fact that he was in the military, in a time of peace no less, means nothing. I have some respect for Prince Harry since he was a helicopter pilot/TACP dude in Afghanistan and that takes real skill.

Actually Prince Harry is cool, he shoots taliban, ****s strippers in Vegas, and dresses up as Hitler.

They will always be allowed into the military academies but if you think they get a free pass after that then you've never read the accounts of their actual service. Incidentally blaming Charles for being in the military during peacetime is a little rich, given that we tend to prefer not to start wars just to give our Royals some excitement.

                    Oh yea

They "join" the military and "serve".

If you mean being babysat by real soldiers... far from any actual danger.

Even then, they are sucking up resources by having people dedicated to defending them... and even putting soldiers in danger by being giant targets.

Invincible was one of the two operational aircraft carriers available at the time, and, as such, was to play a major role in the Royal Navy task force assembled to sail south to retake the islands. However, Prince Andrew's place on board and the possibility of The Queen's son being killed in action made the British Government apprehensive, and the Cabinet desired that Prince Andrew be moved to a desk job for the duration of the conflict. The Queen, though, insisted that her son be allowed to remain with his ship, meaning Prince Andrew remained on board Invincible to serve as a Sea King helicopter co-pilot, flying on missions that included anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare, Exocet missile decoy, casualty evacuation, transport, and search and air rescue. He witnessed the Argentinian attack on the SS Atlantic Conveyor, and was one of the first to take off survivors.
Yep, real safe assignment that one.

It was said that this was in preparation for a tour of duty in Afghanistan, where Canadian and British forces were participating in the NATO-led Afghan War;[30] rumours that were confirmed in February the following year, when the British Ministry of Defence revealed that Harry had secretly been deployed as a Forward Air Controller to Helmand Province in the Asian country.[31] The revelation came after the media – notably, the German newspaper Bild and Australian magazine New Idea[32][33] – breached the blackout placed over the information by the Canadian and British authorities.[34] It was later reported that, while in Afghanistan, Harry had called in United States Air Force air strikes,[35] helped Gurkha troops repel an attack from Taliban insurgents,[36] and performed patrol duty in hostile areas.

Almost every president for the last 100 years served. The only exceptions in the last 80 years were Obama, Clinton, and FDR.

Did you add that 80 year exception because otherwise your list would have had to include Taft, Wilson, Harding, Coolidge and Hoover and would therefore have seemed far less impressive?
