The thing is that was almost next to the place he was staying. I've twice been in a situation I was fleeing people who had tried to rob me very close to my home and because I didn't want them to know where I live I went past my own door or moved away from it. It seems conceivable to me that Trayvon also was worried that the stalker would find out where he was staying, but rather than go for the flight option in fight or flight, he chose fight.
