There is no doubt the George Zimmerman will be acquitted, and it is becoming very clear the prosecution is only occurring to placate angry blacks who wanted to lynch Zimmerman without knowing all the facts. Watching Trayvon's absolutely retarded, quadro-chinned whale of a girlfriend explain to the court that she speaks ebonics was the highlight of the trial (in addition to all the times she was caught in a lie, or making up facts like "that's when he hit Trayvon."). I want to buy an action figure of her, simply to remind myself never to eat two desserts.

Sanford PD/DA made the right call in dropping this. Fortunately, Zimmerman will emerge as a sort of celebrity in right-wing circles and probably get a major book deal at the very least.

They're not going to stop wanting to lynch him just because he's acquitted.

But yes, any reasonable prosecutor would have dropped this case once he learned the facts--or never pressed charges in the first place, like the Sanford DA.

Any modestly competent prosecutor should be able to convince a jury that Zimmerman was the principal choreogrpaher of events that led to a unarmed kid being killed, and should be guilty of manslaughter, but it's clear that either the DA is just going through the motions or only hires retards.

Legally you have to be far more than the "principal choreographer of events that led to an unarmed kid being killed," whatever that means. Nothing is relevant except what Zimmerman was doing at the instant when Trayvon apparently began assaulting him. Unless Zimmerman reasonably put Martin in immediate fear of death from which he had no reasonably apparent means of escaping at the exact time Martin began assaulting Zimmerman, and assuming Zimmerman was not clearly winning the fight, Zimmerman was justified in shooting him.

And that's a hell of a lot to prove in court with no witnesses save for an ignoramus who is only semi-literate and wasn't even present.

I'm going to repeat what I posted on the first page:

When I was 17, if I'd been walking through a secluded section of the city on a dark dreary night and someone was casing me from a car, and I turned down a side street unaccessible by car and the dude got out and started following me on foot, and I sped up and tried to lose the guy and he sped up too, at some point I would have rounded on him and beat the snot out of him. I also would have felt quite confident that I was acting in self defense and that the guy had gotten what he had coming.

I don't think I'm alone in this.

Also, if they tested my blood, they would have found some THC.

Honestly, the correct response to something like that is to flee and avoid confrontation, and as a gun owner, you should know that.

How could a state prosecutor be ordered by Holder to do anything? I suspect the Florida Attorney General did it to try to calm the anger.

Like I said in the other thread, people have been convicted on manslaughter for leaving their fence gates open and having a kid drown in their pool. If I drank and drive, and killed someone, it would be easy to get convicted on vehicular manslaughter.

Because it's legal precedent that if you create the scenario where someone gets killed(intentional or not), thenyou can be charged and convicted of manslaughter.

Yes, and? The reason for that is to avoid killing people unnessecarily.

Zimmerman? He's an adult.

In my experience it's that for most responsible gun owners, carrying firearms usually creates inhibative effect, and that Zimmerman decided to go off and play vigilante while carrying indicates he isn't a responsible gun owner. He was the adult, he was the CHP holder, and he decided to act in a irresponsible way, just as surely as if he had drank a fifth of bourbon and got behind the wheel of a car.

But I guess that admonition of yours doesn't apply to the guy carrying guns, huh?

That's a different crime called negligent homicide in most (all?) jurisdictions.

Anyway I'm inclined to believe Wiglaf's view on what is or isn't manslaughter cause he's actually a lawyer.
