This would only be due to a lack of understanding of the ruling. I am sure you took the time to explain to these people how having Congress redo its formula would prevent discrimination in many places that it is not being controlled now and would remove unneeded and therefore unfair oversight from places that no longer need it.

Actually it makes no sense. If someone called someone else a "self-hating jew" it wouldn't make the person making the accusation an anti-semite or someone who thinks jews are a "monolithic" entity who aren't allowed to have individual opinions. Right wingers, nevertheless, will circle their wagons around any black person who is criticized for allegedly facilitating the oppression of black people by claiming that the mere concept of an "Uncle Tom" is racist.

            • Shockingly, Hauldren Collider has, in the past, treated Jews like "a monolithic entity instead of human beings with their own opinions and views."

Something like 80-85% of Israelis supported the recent operations in Gaza.
Unbelievable. Implying that a political position is somehow incongruous with being Jewish?

              • I never said she wasn't Jewish, merely engaged in antisemitic apologia. If you found a black dude who kept talking about how the Confederacy was great, I'd let you get away with calling him Uncle Tom.

The reason Uncle Tom is racist is because you'll be labelled as one simply for being Republican, as if Black people need the ineffable wisdom of the Democratic party to lead them to the promised land.

Except we know Congress won't pass anything so all that results in more people getting screwed so, no, there isn't even that silver lining and instead the whole thing is just a **** ruling.

So because Congress won't do its job THAT is the reason it becomes a **** ruling? You know nothing about the law.

I don't think Republicans want to herd blacks into death camps.

You realize that the VRA is a huge contributor to Congressional deadlock, right? It mandates racially divided districts in the south, so that extremists from both parties are over represented. But I guess the one dimensional news analysis you're spoon fed by MSNBC didn't mention that.

Why don't progressives ever want to change the status quo?

                            • The VRA benefits a lot of republicans in the south because it mandates packing the black votes, which are the majority of Democratic votes in the south, into single districts.

                              • That's another reason why its support in Congress was nearly unanimous. It's pro-incumbent legislation, and that's the easiest to pass.
