Probably. Not like PETA's got anything better to do.

Apparently, laughing at this meme means you are responsible for every rape that has happened... ever.

I understand sexism in the workplace is an issue in the gaming industry. It's wrong and shouldn't happen. Women should get equal pay... obviously. This seems like a no brainer.

And yes, there's always controversy with rape jokes.

But today, she posts this meme:

And everyone is laughing their ass off... hahah it says "ho made" instead of "homemade" hahaha omfg so hilarious i **** my pants.

It seems to me that if enjoyment of the first equals tacit support for rape... then enjoyment for the second must equal support for racial stereotypes and sex trafficking.

        Am I wrong?

For the record, I'm not with the humor police.
I'd imagine that the sensitivity is more the result of the incidents of sexism in the gaming community than the gaming industry. It turns out that a bunch of anti-social nerds don't have a very enlightened view of women.

I don't play much Mario; has he worn a tanooki suit in a game released since '89 or so?

Also, while we're on the subject of tanooki, I highly recommend the Studio Ghibli cartoon Pom Poko. It will teach your children about respecting the environment, and about giant magical scrotums (scrota?).
