  • I'm sure the dems thought Il was not competitive from 1968 - 1988 when the Repugs carried the state. Granted it's been blue for the more recent 20 years, but it does show that things can change. There are no Absolutes. Just high probability But the right candidate could come along and change that.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Just because they aren't competitive currently, doesn't mean they are meaningless.
For the Dems to win, they have to have those votes... only a moron would call them meaningless.

If your State is in play Ming, the Dem might as well drop out of the race as it means a repeat of the 1984 election is coming.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

        • I guess the Repugs should give up since Texas was voting Democratic prior to 1980, so it must be in play too...
They only voted Repug 5/31 times prior to 1980, very clearly a Dem state.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

Texas is going blue... maybe even in 2016.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Very true, although 2016 is a little optimistic.
