My nearest regularly used corner shops/mimi-supermarkets are run by Turks from Germany and Hindu Asians from Mombasa. I can buy Jamaican, Byelorussian, Polish and Lithuanian bread, Rumanian cakes, Turkish yoghurts and cheeses, German jams, halva, paneer...

Again, this my be news to you, but people in the U.K. are allowed to hold and express different views on the same subject. That I may not agree with a random assortment of people you've selected should hardly come as a surprise.

I somehow doubt that you and Angela Davis have the same opinions about the state of the U.S., for instance....

In what sense ? They happen to be British citizens with different views or politics from mine ? Amazing. Which of course says nothing about whether or not London is a multicultural city (it is, and always has been) and whether or not I'm lying about why I like living here.

Given that I see no reason to lie to someone like you, I'm not sure why you'd doubt me.... unless of course it's to do with your own views on race. Or you could be lying.

I can hardly speak for someone else's. Every big city has problems. You're simply making too much of one isolated incident. Again, one of the men who committed the attack was born in the U.K. to a family which was Christian. He doesn't speak or act for all British citizens born of Nigerian parents or black parents, and he doesn't speak or act for all Muslims.

Funnily enough, I'm just around the corner from one as well and can confirm the same - not to mention a Sikh temple and a Hindu temple. I live in the middle of a muslim Bangladeshi community (rather like I did growing up in Tower Hamlets, so I feel at home!), the parks are always full with children playing - there's a real community feel!

I love the fact that something that represents the height of white middle class values can exist slap bang in one of the most ethnically diverse parts of Cardiff!

My nearest shops include an Indian supermarket that doubles up as an outlet for West Indian staples; Bangladeshi and Pakistani shops selling halal food; the obligatory Polish shop; two Chinese/Oriental supermarkets; numerous restaurants of the same...

I love the fact that on Christmas day, there's at least half a dozen supermarkets and corner shops within a few hundred yards that will still be open!

Wow, again your racism betrays you - the fact that you couldn't contemplate living in a mixed population!

Racism is so far down the list of issues in Cardiff. By far the most violence in the city is white on white: pissed up people occasionally beating the **** out of each other on a drunken Friday or Saturday night - virtually all violence in Cardiff is alcohol fuelled! Definitely an incidence when muslims' abstention from alcohol clearly makes sense!

I like that I feel safe in virtually the whole of Cardiff at night - with pretty much the only dodgy areas being the chavvy white council estates such as Ely and St Mellons - but then it's not for no reason that they're on the edge of the city. You'd fit right at home, Doc...
