I really enjoyed this movie. Also was drunk. Had an Iron Man drink while watching (electric lemonade with a glowing ice cube thing in it, super cool).

Saw it today; first movie the wife and I got to see in theaters since Laz was born. It was mostly about getting out of the house, but this was certainly better than the previous IM movie. Not that any of them were what I'd call great; Avengers and Hulk are the two of the batch that I think really got it right.

              Spoiler:
Killian reminded me a lot of Hammer from the last film, only with superpowers, and I was disappointed that they threw away the character of the Mandarin like that. Something like the comic-book version would have been enjoyably silly to watch, even if they quite sensibly got rid of the Fu-Manchu yellow-peril schtick. The bomb-people weren't as interesting as the rings would have been.

Ah, well. The important thing was that we got out of the house without the boy for a few hours.

                Congrats on that!

I quite enjoyed the movie. Knowing it's going to be a CGI-fest (and Marvel property) kind of sets my expectations appropriately. It easily passes the "10 dollars/2 hours" entertainment test.

I tend to think of cgi silliness like a separate medium. You can use it well or poorly; we've merely advanced past the point where current-gen CG will still carry a movie solo. I think that's a good thing.

Have you seen or heard of a comic book movie at all in the course of your life? This comment isn't solely directed at you but the complaint about CGI seems silly when discussing this genre.

I never bothered to watch the first two so I imagine I won't bother to watch this one either.

That's the general drift of what I said; I liked Avengers and Hulk because they embraced the silliness of the medium. Avengers, in particular, felt more like a comic book.

There's use of CGI. Then there's overuse of CGI.

In a comic book movie which by definition is going to use a lot of sfx, where does Sava view the line being placed?
