It doesn't matter how offensive an avatar is, in an avatar bet, that's part of the stuff you have to worry about. Otherwise, why make an avatar bet in the first place?!

Of course, things that are illegal or will get you banned are to be avoided, but everything else - fair game!

If avatars aren't agreed to before the conclusion of the bet, that's what negotiations are for if the winner chooses something you consider beyond the pale. Hence why Ben's shouldn't have rejected it out of hand but asked for an alternative avatar. It would have also had the side effect of sparing the forum from seeing this irritating snit of a thread by its author.

I still stand by my statement that negotiation by Ben after he (amazingly!!!! No one seriously thought Al would make it.) lost would have saved everyone involved from being irritated.

I didn't. I also negotiate this **** beforehand to avoid problems like when I won the Avatar bet with Ben previously. He followed through with that one no problem.

He did. The whole idea of the avatar bet thing is that when you lose you have to use an avatar that you don't want to. I don't expect that anyone is going to be betting him anymore. I used to support him, but he's a loser. He has no honor. I'm seriously thinking of putting him on ignore myself.

Look at it this way. I email a random person in Germany (public official with a publicly available email address) a question or two, and in the second or third email I place a swastika.

I've not broken the law because I'm not subject to German law whilst in the UK, and there is no EU law governing this. But the German official has broken the German law by receiving an email and looking at something a none-German national has sent him?

I understand the point about Neo-Nazis but the implementation is not enforceable.

Thats not how the Law works. As far as I remember it forbids any distribution* or display of that thing in a political setting.
