The Islamist Erdogan government is certainly not flooding the Turkish government with ignorant Islamist madrassa graduates who only learn what's between the covers of a Koran. That certainly is not the policy of a government whose Ambassador has recently declared that Al Qaeda is not a terrorist organisation. Certainly not. Why, the very thought could get you imprisoned. In Turkey, I mean.

Turkish Ambassador: Al-Qaeda not a terrorist organisation
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James NapierTags: None

1. France, which he tacitly accuses of being a terrorist state.
2. Turkey, which has refused to fire him to date.
3. Everyone, for the suggestion that Turkey's foreign policy is not antagonistic towards Al-Qaeda.
Last I checked, an Ambassador conveys his country's political views.
True, Erdogan is not quite at the stage at which he can fully endorse this fellow. He needs more time. If pressed internationally he may well fire him. But his domestic opponents have already pointed this out and that produced no results. Which means that domestically his views are not a concern to the Turkish Islamist AKP and at least some of the Turkish electorate.
More worrying is the notion that Turkey's political class is being transformed by these joke appointments throughout. The Ambassador to Chad is not the only person in the Islamist appointed political class to think this way. The Turkish diplomatic corp was once composed of Westernised, educated professionals who had academic educations courtesy of Western lecturers and educators. Some Turkish lecturers in foreign policy like Soner Cagaptay are world renowned scholars.
Now they're being replaced with people who think Al Qaeda is not a terrorist group.
Indeed I read an article which reported that Turkish diplomats were now being selected from theology school graduates. Read: madrassas. Possibly this is one such graduate.

Somehow. I would think even for Turkey, "Ambassador to Chad" is really not terribly far up the foreign policy hierarchy.
And most ambassadors are political plum jobs. All they have to do is not fart audibly at the state dinners and not wipe their noses with the host's napkins, and the real foreign policy work is done by professionals. When all else fails, blame brown people. | Hire a teen, while they still know it all. | Trump-Palin 2016. I'd say he just ripped a huge loud wet one. By not tossing him out Turkey has shown that it should be tossed out of NATO and Russia should be informed that they can have the place if they're so inclined.Long time member @ Apolyton

And what have been the consequences for this ambassador?
And what should they have been?
And as I just pointed out: the professionals were the ambassadors before and they are now being replaced by the men from the madrassas and the professionals are not happy about it. See here for two interviews with Turkish diplomats and analysis:

Given that source is likely no better than your usual white supremacist source you like to link to why should anyone give a **** what you or your idiotic links say? Especially given your long and virtually complete failure of a track record?Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Well, that certainly sounds like you did extensive research for that rebuttal.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

In matters of foreign policy the American political establishment is best compared to a ship of fools. There are exceptions but you're too busy going into fits to notice them.
You need me to be a white supremacist the way Ingsoc Party members needed Goldstein: to have their daily two minutes of hate. Wake up to yourself.
Especially given your long and virtually complete failure of a track record?
You mean where I pointed out that there was no evidence that the Libyan rebels would necessarily be American allies and then a Libyan militia decides to blow up an American embassy?
You mean the part where neither the Libyan government nor the Americans do anything in response to this attack?
Which part did I get wrong here, Oerdin?Last edited by Zevico; March 24, 2013, 03:12."You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. "Oh, your source is invalid because it's right wing!" Considering that you photocopy your opinions from Rachel ****ing Maddow, coming from you this is especially meaningless.
