Until that happens though, it will circulate from one location/person to another.

Besides that, why would a federal bank destroy the money if it's defacing does not decrease its value?

The fed replaces paper money really frequently. The stuff doesn't last long. Defacing it is considered damage to the bill.

Scrawling something about Leviticus on a dollar bill won't change that.

but do please let us know if you proceed so we can notify the authorities and see if anything happens

defacing our currency is far more serious because it has Her Majesty's (QEII, not Bette Midler) image on it. To deface that is lese majeste, treason at worst, depending on what you do, though I haven't heard of any recent prosecutions.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

              Stamping isn't defacing:

The only law against defacing currency is found in the United States Code, which contains the permanent laws of the federal government. U.S. Code Title 18 includes several specific sections that govern U.S. currency.Sections 331 and 332 specify that it is illegal to alter coins. The Code mentions altering, scaling, mutilating, defacing, impairing, diminishing and lightening as the illegal forms of coin defacing. Individuals are liable if they create defaced coins, but also if they import, possess, sell or pass them.
Section 333 covers paper currency. It states that it is illegal to cut, deface, mutilate, disfigure, perforate or rejoin bills. Section 333 also pertains to any other activity that is intended to make a bill unfit to be reissued and remain in circulation.

Okay well if there's stuff written on it they'll usually replace the bill IIRC. That's what I remember being told when I worked there.

If he goes with the Leviticus stamp then it's also likely that an atheist will receive the bill and immediately have a nervous breakdown because he can't debate anybody over it

Of course, if I go with the Leviticus stamp, can a person still assume that it has to have been a gay person who did that?

Have you considered that maybe nobody cares if a gay dude handled the money? Like, not even anti-gay people would give a ****. It's not like it's contaminated, unless you spooged on it.

For comparison: if I got a dollar bill that said something like "a pedophile, convicted child rapist, and registered sex offender handled this money, how does that make you feel?" I wouldn't really give a damn.
