I didn't think that anyone in here was arguing that Carlin could not practice his freedom of speech.

But I wonder how many conservative guys on here would do a complete flip and think a comedian expressing conservative views on political or social issues in his performances to be hilarious because the guy happens to be expressing views through humor that happens to align with their own conservative views.

        Hey, I like Dennis Miller

My dad saw him when he performed at one of Mitt Romney's rallies last year and thought he was really funny. But I think we can deduce from that sentence alone how much MrFun would enjoy his humor.

I do think he was funnier before, though. But being conservative I don't mind as much when his humor consists of "lol liberals".

See aforementioned Dennis Miller comment. No one likes his turn to conservative mouth piece.

See? It's okay for comedians to include viewpoints on political or social issues as long as it aligns with your own views. THEN the guy is funny.

I like George Carlin, too, idiot.

Bill Maher, on the other hand, sucks dick. He used to actually have some comedic value. Now he's a misogynistic ******* who sees the worst in everyone who disagrees with him.

Inside every successful comedian is an angry, angry man.

                    Yes, the women too.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

MrFun -- When the joke requires political agreement on one side or the other for the punchline to be effective, it defines the humor as non-universal.

                      Hence, less funny.

The same thing can be said of any humorist who restricts his audience to those who agree with or share a specific culture with them in order to "get it," like Borscht Belt and Chitlin' Circuit comics from back in the day.

I don't find Seinfeld funny, mildy witty maybe, in the Bill Cosby tradition

HC is probably salty because Maher called Palin a **** (or was it ****)?
