It seems quite plausible that's actually what's happening. What other explanation is there for S&P being sued while Moody's and Fitch aren't?

              Is S&P a bigger organization?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                Isn't Moody's bigger?

edit: It appears Moody's and S&P both control about 40% of the overall market, and Moody's was just as culpable in the subprime crisis (if not more so) as S&P.

I think one time, I accidentally spilled some milk at home on the same day that some Palestinians in Gaza were killed.

                  I BET THERE'S A CONNECTION!!

Unlike with your asinine and bizarre failure of a reductio ad absurdam, there is a clear and plausible causal relationship between these two events.

No one bought houses with no realistic way to pay. But many did stop paying for their houses when they could have.

I think that's a bit of a wild claim, and I wouldn't say that it caused the crisis at all.

The term refers to a borrower with "no income, no job and no assets" and it was exactly those kinds of **** loans and the people who took them (the entire subprime market) which precipitated the crisis.
