Back to the topic. It should be interesting to see how long France sticks around, and in what force. The *******s aren't gone, they've just gone to ground for the time being, and have to be a little less arrogant now that they're dealing with a functional military force.

I'm wondering if the British would have had the ability to pull this off, what with the deep cuts to their armed forces.

(NOW we can have a troll thread!)

After the cuts we spend about the same as France.

It also helps not having to fear your own pilots when fighting a war...

Much easier when they know that your ground forces don't have a collective ball between them to be anywhere near a combat zone.

The good news is most of the terrorists are actually foreigners from north Africa or the middle east so they should be able to be spotted compared to the black people who are native to the area. The harder ones to spot will be the desert people related to berbers. I forget their name.

Tuareg. They only make up ~5% of the population according to wiki but the eastern portion of the northern half of the country is mostly desert with only a few Tuareg wandering around. It will be harder figuring out which Tuareg are terrorists while the foreigners should be pretty easy to spot.

                        Have the French surrendered yet?

I had read that the rebels were about to overrun the capital until they were engaged by 800 French troops and were scattered. Not much of a rebel force if 800 hundred French soldiers can turn the whole tide of a war in a day....

To be fair it likely is the French Foreign Legion made up of real soldiers not Frenchmen.

Didn't Romney predict this in the debates, and get mocked for it? I know he mentioned that conflict in Mali was brewing from Al Qaeda syndicates.
