While impressive and rare I don't think that only Russian horses can do that. I doubt Russian horses are smarter than other horses. When you put animals in certain environments they quickly learn some very human like behaviors. I've seen a pack of dogs use a ferry boat to get across a lake.

On the dangers of driving in Russia. I never knew about the scam artists who intentionally jump in front of cars hoping to sue the drivers or that Russian courts don't accept verbal witnesses. That explains why so many people in Russia have dashboard cams.

My understanding (which may be very very misinformed!) is that a lot of places in Russia outside of major cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg are in pretty desperate poverty.

I'm guessing he just drunk himself into a stupor then decided to sleep laying in the middle of the road. The scary part is everyone just walks past him as if that is normal behavior.

I think I have seen much worst in real life in SPB. Actually, I think I have seen even worst in London. English are stupid drivers.
