RPS says the port is good, but the game saving mechanism is ridiculous. In Just Cause 2 you couldn't quicksave and were revived at the nearest safehouse or at the mission checkpoint, but in FC3 this also undoes some of the intermission progress. Oh, and you also get only one save slot.

I'm liking FC3 so far. Mechanically it's very good. That said, I liked the Far Cry 2 setting and plot much better. It was a lot more thought-provoking, if that makes any sense. FC3's plot was deeper and made me think about good vs. bad in the context of actions taken to protect a civilian population.Comment

I didn't say it was thought provoking because it made me make choices. The whole thing where the Jackal turns out to be fueling the civil war because it keeps the evil people from actually getting down to business and governing was neat.

Far Cry 3 has the best graphics I've ever seen on PC.
I never played Far Cry 2 more than a few minutes. Don't the respawning checkpoints kill it? It seems stupid to fight a good tactical battle, only to have the enemy respawn a second later.Comment
