In most cases the obvious answer, which is in plain sight, is the right one

This is despite the fact that it was obvious to everyone else that it was a terrorist attack. And that multiple organs of the government knew that it was a terrorist attack and possibly knew about it ahead of time. Considering that calling it a terrorist attack doesn't fit with the administration's everyone-hates-us-and-it's-our-fault worldview, and also that it doesn't mesh well with saying Obama has been a hard-charging foreign policy success, there are multiple unseemly explanations for the lack of transparency from the administration.
It seems to me the truth is somewhere in between.
In many other arab countries there WERE actually protests over the movie, most of which were rather peaceful.
The most likely scenario in my mind is that most of the protesters in Libya were actually protesting over the movie and that a group of terrorist used this a cover-up to burn the Embassy and murder the staff.

While that still leaves concerns about what exactly the administration was saying as opposed to what they knew, I don't think it's fair to say that when they were claiming it was about the movie, it was complete BS.

The officials on the call did not respond directly to allegations made by Nordstrom and Wood that the State Department rejected repeated requests to increase security in Libya, but they defended the security in Benghazi and said that Stevens was traveling with five diplomatic security agents, two more than his regular contingent of three, in light of the increased threat environment.

"There had been no attacks like that anywhere in Libya in the time that we had been there. So it was unprecedented," the official said. "In fact, there hasn't been an attack like that in recent diplomatic history."

So are you agreeing with point 1 I raised? After all it was the deteriorating situation in Benghazi that encouraged the UK and Red Cross to close their facilities in that city because they felt they couldn't secure them in an adequate fashion.

No, that would be incredibly stupid reasoning, because it clearly supports that they reasonably did not predict the event. Pure hindsight now.

Republicans are responsible for more American deaths in the last 12 years than Al Qaeda.

They are working hard to destroy the American economy and kill as many Americans as possible.

Well, the president is a black man, so of course his competency should be questioned at every chance, on anything we can grasp at.
