Israel always likes to get a few jabs in after the bell between US presidential elections and the inauguration.Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..
Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

This is exactly what al-Assad has waited for. He's been trying to draw Israel into a war by attacks in the Golan. When it becomes a choice between getting rid of al-Assad or fighting Israel, guess who will be attacked? There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

The US took out Saddam and the Republican Guard in the interest of freedom, self determination and democracy. Question is, are these the interests of the Iraqis? Some of them certainly, yet the US incurred steady casualties for its pains. Now the possibility exists that Iraq will be transformed by Iran into an extremist state. An extremist state will be a place full of terrorists heading out to attack the US and its allies. This Saddam didn't do, GWB's wet dreams aside. So, was the US better off with Saddam keeping the extremists under his nasty thumbs?
Haven't been keeping up, what's happening in Libya? Democracy full of people finally breathing free or bunch of zealots strapping on bombs?
Now we're looking at a regime change in Syria. Who mentioned democracy? Did you guys just assume? Or if the West helps are we setting free a bunch of murderers who, for our sake next time we get on a plane or in their sites, are better off in the prison of which Assad is the warden?
I don't know.I am however wondering who used the word "democracy" in describing what will come after him, and why.
