They use noisemaker bombs to warn that an attack is imminent. They've dropped tens of thousands of leaflets urging Palestinians to avoid Hamas facilities and officials. The lengths they go to to avoid civilian casualties when their enemy actively seeks civilian casualties is frankly astonishing.

They don't bomb shanties with families in them. They bomb Hamas missile sites. Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on Earth and Hamas deliberately locates its facilities within and near civilian centers like hospitals, schools and mosques. This is because they are a totally and thoroughly morally bankrupt terrorist group. They do not care about the lives of their own people. They only want to kill Jews.

That's a pretty stupid thing to say. If Hamas is firing rockets at you, really the only defense is to kill the leaders of Hamas. The Israeli military is trying to cripple the ability of Hamas to carry out its attacks and force them to agree to a cease fire. They aren't killing Palestinians out of pure spite.

Hamas doesn't use missile silos. Missile silos are for launching ICBMs. Hamas uses portable rocket launchpads and mortar tubes. They move them around to whichever site is politically most difficult for Israel to attack.

Did stealing my pencil lead to the death of anyone? If not, I fail to see how it is comparable to the situation Israel finds itself in wrt rocket and mortar attacks on its cities.

It means Israel is bombing Gaza in retaliation (retribution) for rockets being fired on their own land. They ostensibly try to target "only the bad guys", but the results - as we've seen over decades - show they get it wrong more than they get it right. And you know what? They honestly don't give a ****. Because it's retribution.

It's a tit-for-tat endless cycle of retribution for decades.
