  • Exactly - right wing Europeans are much smarter than right wing Americans

    • No. Right-wing Europeans are just as anti-market as the left-wingers, except they also are xenophobic to the point of making Rush Limbaugh seem tolerant.

      • Must have been difficult for them to pick against the xenophobic party

The Economist is anti-market and xenophobic?

          • No, the economist is not. But if you look at the far-right parties of say, France, or Norway, that's what you get.

Yep. As opposed to the GOP, which openly embraces muslims and advocates their cultural inclusion.

              • This is a tight election. I voted Romney, but really this could go either way.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. Apparently the GOP is these days; what with Romney talking about raising tariffs on China

Btw, I love how HC went from "right wing" to "far-right" Europeans in one post.

                    • 538 at the New York Times is now predicting an 80% chance of an Obama victory. The popular vote will be close but the only count which matters is the electoral vote and that won't be close at all. Electorally Obama is set to win by a wide margin.

I would like to see the US play more hard ball with China because it's bull**** to let them charge a 50% tariff on US made cars and car parts while letting them sell tariff free in the US. I'm generally pro-free trade but it needs to be genuinely free for both parties. Other wise it is just us disarming and surrendering giving us no leverage to force them to make concessions to us.

Because The Economist has been a pretty vocal Obama critic, duh. Even in their endorsement, they said it was a close call and referred to him as "the devil we know."

                              • My 82 and 86 year old grandparents in ohio voted obama because Romney is a mormon and they just don't like that about him. First time they voted Democrat since LBJ for Gramps and ever for Grandma.
