If Obama wins, I'm buying guns with all the money I can muster. We'll be screwed.

Actually, based on gun purchase records from December 2008, Obama is one of the most effective gun salesmen of all time. Slowwhand's attitude is far from unique.

Does it make me a bad person that half the reason I want Romney to win is because I can't wait to see Asher and MrFun's butthurt about a candidate who opposes gay marriage winning? I don't even agree with his stance on it. I just want to see Asher and MrFun be forced to acknowledge that voters don't care.

            Actually, yes. Yes it does.

I have nothing to lose on the gay marriage issue in the USA. I hope the US gets on the right side of history sooner, but that's only because I'm a decent human being. As you know, I've renounced my American citizenship and have full and equal rights in a country that respects me for who I am.

A good person is empathetic, rational, and reasonable. You've just demonstrated you're none of the above. Congratulations - you may yet prove that more Americans are like you than they are like me. And that's nothing to be proud of.

You're going to be surprised when Romney wins.

No, actually, you're going to be selectively forgetful when Romney wins.

As a sidenote, HC, what the **** is with this comment?

When did I even make such a comment? I don't know or care what US voters care for.

My arguments for gay marriage are grounded in humanity and rationality, not US voting demographics and historical trends.

It's not drama queen in the slightest. You can sit up there and make what you think are snide remarks that don't matter, but it may affect you, too.
EDIT: And I don't mean about gay issues. This isn't a Mr Fun thread.

For the record, I'm a lot more compassionate/concerned for the 9 to 11% of Americans who are unemployed than the 2% or so that yearn for some imagined "right".

                        9% is a bull**** statistic.

Wait, do you think unemployment is higher or lower?

7.8% is the bull**** statistic you are likely thinking of.

No, I think it's higher than 9%. Think about it. Don't even include tradesman who are making less in their business. Repair guys and stuff. We won't even count them.
The % reported is based solely off unemployment benefits paid. Not everyone qualifies. Not everyone gets a job in the time frame. Not everyone is working to their capability based on education and/or experience.

Compassionate people don't pick and choose what they care about. Compassionate people don't bicker about wording in the constitution when discussing what is morally right.

You don't even know what compassion and empathy are. It's disturbing. You have the emotional maturity of a sheltered freshman nerd, and it shows.

(And where do you even get 2% from? You're so out to lunch on so many things, it's sad.)
