And as usual, the liberal tactic of ridiculing the intelligence of a conservative. Yes, Romney is an idiot

Had the same debate recently with a liberal who said "How dare you compare the intellectual achievements of Romney to Barack Obama". I said, umm... they both went to Harvard Law but Romney also has an MBA. "Blah blah Harvard Law Review". Me: "I'm sorry that your community organizer was spending all his time studying constitutional case law while Romney was making tens of millions of dollars... who's the dumb one again?"

Then it turned into a whole thing about how academia are more important and respected than businessmen
The ad isn't attacking his business acumen. It's attacking his lack of competence in foreign policy. And if you're tired of Republicans being characterized as idiots, maybe you should blame the people who created that stereotype by nominating George Bush and blame the guy who picked Sarah Palin.

The trope has existed for longer than that. Both of them were hit with it because democrat spinsters have three options to choose from: Idiot, liar or evil. They can't seem to fathom someone having a legitimate disagreement.

They've gone for all three with Romney and none of them have stuck.

Obama has a lead over Romney in Ohio.

But Romney has a lead over Obama in the national vote. Ohio may not hold up, MrFun.

Romney is very popular in red states, that's why he leads in the national vote. That doesn't mean he will win.

It's incredibly unlikely that anyone would lose the electoral college with a 1-point lead or more in the popular vote on election day.

I thought in recent history, the pattern was that no Republican ever won the presidency without getting Ohio?

No it isn't. You aren't getting it. Obama's unpopularity in red states means that he will be lower in the national vote, than in the electoral vote.

And Romney is equally unpopular, and Obama equally popular, in blue states like California, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, etc.

No, actually Obama is more unpopular in red states than Romney is in blue states. That's how Romney is leading in the national vote.

HC, it's really looking like Romney will win the popular vote but lose the electoral. Kidicious is actually right

Seriously, look at Romney's lead in the national polls, then compare to the swing states, then look at an electoral map and realize just how many swing states have to go Romney's way to win.

It's ironic but we may have a GOP candidate win the popular vote and lose the electoral.

Romney could get 49% in every swing state to go along with his big margins in the 'red states' and all that means is he'll kill the popular vote but lose the college.

I forgot about Dan Quayle and Gerald Ford. Seriously, stop nominating people who sound stupid and your party won't be made fun of. If you think "spinsters" who can't fathom legitimate disagreement are somehow unique to the Democratic party then IRONY ALERT: you are a spinster yourself.

btw most politicans are dishonest, there's nothing surprising about Democrats calling Republicans liars or vice versa.

Liar hasn't stuck? Are you insane? He's been proven to have lied on literally hundreds of occasions over the course of this election campaign. He's run the most dishonest campaign I've seen in my lifetime, and that's up against some seriously stiff competition.

The only important one he's behind in is Ohio.
