Moutons aren't a problem to me with regular weapons (I've never gotten to successfully research plasma). The next level up of big bad are when it's a problem and I have to either use rockets or really take it slow (or, die)...

Instead of just get my groceries, I went to the other end of the center where my game pusher resides, and yes, they had XCOM.
Though, I have promised myself that I won't install it before friday it so only the weekend will be destroyed

Hmm.
DLC is interesting, but more interesting is the comment late in the article about user created content... "it wasn't one of our core pillars when we started the project". Hrmph. Especially considering for Civ5 it _was_ one of the core pillars, but is still pretty disappointingly supported right now compared to Civ4...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

That guy talks a lot of bull****. So they can't add new weapons because the research is 'on a fairly finely balanced pinpoint right now', but they can make the most powerful weapon in the game unlock early?

The Blaster Launcher isn't OP given that you get it at the very end of the game anyway, and you may actually have to wait and do extra missions to get it before going through the gollop chamber. Not to mention the mission where you get it is pretty hard.Comment

I beat the final mission on Impossible. The Blaster Launcher made a big difference. Once again I killed the uber ethereal in one turn. It's actually pretty easy to do. Blaster launcher, headshot, then throw everything else you have at him if there's any health left.
If you have a squad of all colonels and they have 100% tier 3 gear then it's definitely beatable. The trouble is getting that far.
