There is nothing wrong with the term. The Geneva Convention is an agreement between nations. If you don't have any rights under it then you just don't have any rights under it. And if you are a murderer then you should be locked up.

What does the Geneva Convention have to do with anything? There is a term in there about unlawful combatants, but that's not the same as this kangaroo court bull**** you know have where the US president basically gets to decide who counts as an illegal combatant. It has nothing to do with justice, and its a big part of why so many former friends started fearing and despising America.

The GCIV defines what a POW is. If you aren't one under the GCIV then you are a criminal and you are liable for you crimes and can recieve punishment that is fair. Whoever despises the US for operating under international law can suck a lemon.

If you're so safely inside the Geneva Convention, then why did you need to pass the Military Commissions Act of 2006?

Your so-called "kangaroo courts" are precisely the tribunals the Third Geneva Conventional calls for when determining the lawful or unlawful status of an enemy combatant.

You should at least make some effort at defining what you argue.

Unlawful combatant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
                en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unlawful_combatant
An unlawful combatant or illegal combatant or unprivileged combatant/belligerent is a civilian who directly engages in armed conflict in violation of the laws of ...
                Note civilian?

Oh and in case you've forgotten what that is, here's a response from one of your own elected senators.

Authorizing indefinite detention of anybody the Government designates, without any proceeding and without any recourse—is what our worst critics claim the United States would do, not what American values, traditions and our rule of law would have us do. This is not just a bad bill, this is a dangerous bill.

There is no violation of the Geneva Convention, period. You want to talk about justice, but you want to accuse people of things that simply aren't crimes under the law. You lose credibility.

There have been numerous violations of the Geneva Convention and your unwillingness to listen to the multitude of vioces around the world and in your own country that repeatedly point this out is very telling. The reason it's so incredibly stupid is because one day another country is going to use the terrible precedent you've set to hit back at Americans and you'll have lost any moral justification to argue.

There are a lot of people in the world that would like to let every criminal out of prison. I've come to realize this and it doesn't bother me.

Oh noes! Other people are going to try people as murderers! We is doomed!

Some of us would like to put a few more in there, starting with Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld ideally. Oh and Kissinger.

You'll surely be as happy as can be when a foreign government grabs some Americans, flies them to another country and tortures them for information before detaining them in camps without legal process for a decade?

I'm not a tool like you. I don't agree with everything my country does. I'm not a republican either. This is about someone who committed a crime and got justly punished for it, IMO.
