I didn't go to the local school for a virtual penis like Yale or CMU students might. I went because it was exceptionally cost effective and got me where I needed to be to succeed. If I spent a fortune going to a private Ivy League school I'd just have gotten myself in a ****load of debt. Instead I paid an extremely small amount of tuition, got the paper I needed, and proved myself in my field.

I didn't even apply to other schools, because there was no point.

It's going to be hard or impossible to prove that, especially for a specific school. You can dismiss it as a black-helicopter conspiracy theorist, but the reality of the situation is everyone knows it goes on. Intelligent people have the capability of deduction.

"Buying a degree" is a term used to describe obtaining a degree that was not warranted academically. It can be implemented any number of ways, and it doesn't ****ing matter what way it is. It happens, and intelligent people know it happens. You and Jaguar are naive children if you believe it's never happened at your schools.

And no, your hilarious assertion that "you went to that school" does not mean you can claim no one bought a degree.

I never claimed to have "evidence" or anything of the sort. We know it to be true. Anyone with intelligence can reason it out given what we know about how universities function.

You are claiming it never happens, which is absurd because it doesn't pass the sniff test. And the lack of explicit evidence (even though there are examples of many schools already cited) does not mean it never happens. It means no one has publicized it.

And SHOCK OF ALL SHOCKS, I'm surprised schools like Yale would not publicly disclose people bought degrees with favours, money, cheating, etc. Only an idiot would expect them to make that public.

Neither did I! I went because I like the students here and the curriculum. And I knew from Kuci's experience that it would be a good fit.

You know, that makes a lot of sense. That's valid reasoning. Most of my friends went to UVA for that reason (a school that is actually even better than BYU, by the way).

The argument got beyond pathetic when you started with the arguments that "well, that school did it but it doesn't mean mine did!"

Reasoning tells me:
1) Private schools will keep this hush-hush. They can only lose by making it public.
2) Most everyone can be bought. If you were a professor and a student offered you $15,000 to give him a C on a final, would you do it if he actually got something less? You say no, but more people than you know would say yes.

Given 1 & 2, it's highly probable this happens at nearly every school. This is human nature.
