Yes. Also, revenge. Turns out they killed one of the commanders of a local Islamist group recently. Also, the Libyan state is notionally still run by a non-Islamist. The civil war isn't over, it seems.

And the attackers knew where he was, which speaks to the "friendliness" of some of the elements in the Libyan government. Who knew? Apparently when the head of the Libyan military kills his predecessor and is a former fighter in Iraq, this is reason to have confidence in the security situation in Libya.

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

    • At least one Afghan police officer turned his gun on NATO troops at a checkpoint in southern Afghanistan before dawn today, killing four international service members before escaping, a spokesman for the international military coalition said.

          • If you think what Israel does to fight terrorism is unacceptable then you sure as hell won't like what Turkey does fighting the PKK. Unless you're just an anti-semitic, anti-Israel ********er, which is possible

            • So, putting you weak attempt at deflecting aside, when is terrorism reasonable, little **** ?

In English "counter-terrorism" refers to violent acts that are performed in order to prevent or counteract terrorism, not necessarily to terrorist acts.

                    Not even necessarily violent.

A prior enlisted guy in my ROTC Bn. who did a tour in Afghanistan was talking about how the ANA/ANP scared the ever-living **** out of him; he always felt like they were going to slit his throat in the middle of the night or something.

Heb ik iets van u aan junior ? If not, **** off. I was not talking to you. Shut up and learn about life. Travel to the middle east outside of israel sometimes and see what lives there.

At the ones worth discussing with:

The for me subtle difference between anti terrorism and counter terrorism was lost in translation.

Also, that definition is wrong. For instance Delta Force/Seal Team Six/GSG-9/etc are described as "counter-terrorism", but I don't think anyone outside of Iran would call them "terrorists".
