I donated at the Red Cross when I lived in Virginia (2006-2009). Originally I donated more often, but after fainting (I was on high blood pressure medication which I no longer really needed, gave blood, and went to the gym the next day) I started donating only twice a year (?). I continued this low amount despite getting healthier because I felt very weak after donating and was often low on iron (according to my doctor).

I also hate needles, but that is a small sacrifice.

Since leaving the US, I haven't given blood.

I am A and my wife is B and one of our children is AB. He should be in high demand in years to come.

I donate blood every 3 months, although I should be donating plasma/platelets since I'm AB+. I just don't like the idea of them putting stuff back in me. Maybe when I'm older...

I still don't know my blood type. Never donated blood; until relatively recently I was kinda underweight (and I'm a little worried about that happening again now that I'm doing PT). There was a blood drive at my school for a day last year but I was actually not in town at the time I think.

So, next time I donate, I'll be bringing a friend with me. Over beer & Rummoli last night, I discovered a good friend of mine stopped giving blood about 8 years ago when he changed jobs. His co-worker used to drive him to the clinic so I'll give him a ride and he'll donate.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.
