Only because it would attract more aggressive spambots.

The problem you're having is that you didn't have wide enough arterial roads in the first place, probably.

It's fun for about a day. Very repetitive and not very hard either, oh and it will eventually bring your system to a halt.
        In other words, skip it.

ditto, although a quit and restart will solve the slowdown (memory leak big time).

Like they said, fun for a while, but no Sim city 5.

If you can pick it up for $10 or less ,then give it a shot, worth that at least.

I have Cities XL 2011; based on the screenshot this new version is pretty darn similar, I'd say. It's fun for a while, but not excellent. I come back to it every now and then, but it's no SimCity 4.

SO, what are the most important differences between SC4 and Ciies XL? (I for my part have SC4 + Rush hour, but never had any part of Cities XL)

Doesn't seem like much to me, but XL has a lot of unlocks before you get to the good part...if there really is one.

Yeah SimCity you can start building everything out the gate whereas in Cities XL, you usually have to reach a population milestone (say ~60K population to start bus lines). SimCity also has the whole mayor dynamic with taxes, ordinances, people wanting crap, etc. and there's none of that in Cities XL which is purely city planner gameplay.

If there's no ghetto then it's not a real sim.

True that. I don't think there's really ghettoes in Cities XL.

You kind of can have ghettoes in SimCity, though.

I remember building tons of arcologies in SimCity 2000 (after terraforming the entire map with glitchy spaceports), letting them fill up, and then raising tax rates to 100% with no funding for anything. Some % of the population would get stuck and couldn't leave, but still would generate revenue. Massive surpluses would accumulate as I left the game on overnight. Then I build my utopia over the demolished corpses of my slums. SimEconomics

The unlocks suck, make you really plan ahead or you'll end up tearing everything up to redo it.

I used a cheat on Sim4 and let it run for 18 hours. It was something to behold seeing them huge skyscrapers where open land use to be.

                                18 hours to cheat?
