Regardless your own unique cultural heydey was in the "sun never sets on the empire" phase, not the 20th century where you were a culturally waning society. Alby's right you are and have been culturally irrelevant for a long period of time, notwithsanding brief daliances within the greater US envelope of culture."Just puttin on the foil" - Jeff Hanson

Fitting that a man from the UK would fall back on no true scotsman. In any case, the world eats American food at American chain restaurants, listens to American music, and watches American television and movies. In many countries children first learn to read from the subtitles on American TV shows.

US soft power is the strongest in the world and it is fueled primarily by US culture.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Come on guys, let's remember our Civ here. Even after a wonder becomes obsolete, it still pumps out culture. The US may have a lot of culture-producing improvements, but they haven't been around for very long. British cultural improvements have had a very long time to accumulate culture.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

We just generally have more culture here.
