I avoid the visuals and haven't watched a stitch of coverage since the 80's. The Olympics can't be avoided entirely as for 2-3 weeks its all the media wants to talk about.

A snowboarder(!!) will get tossed for smoking a joint but the Chinese orca in the pool goes undetected.

Ah. Well, my TV consumption is almost exclusively HBOGO and Netflix right now, so I haven't had to ignore this whole Olympics thing. Online, I just scroll past stories with names I don't recognize.

The men's diving, swimming, Graeco-roman wrestling, judo and gymnastics. And the cycling when they get off the bikes. Otherwise I have no interest in the whole shebang, despite having been able to hear the crowds with the living room windows open.

I shall be quite glad when all the fuss and nonsense is finished and life can go back to its usual course....
